When Inkblot Productions posted a reminder for the premiere of “The Blood Covenant” last week, they instructed their invited guests to “come dressed like a bag of money”. It appears, everyone listened.
At the premiere yesterday, Sunday April 10, Nollywood stars came out looking like money bags and we have the best looks from last night.
The upcoming title is Inkblot Productions’ first cinema release of 2022. Chiemeka Osagwu and Chinaza Onuzo wrote the crime story atttempting to discourage blood money rituals among Nigerian youths. Fiyin Gambo directed, while Zulumoke Oyibo was the producer.
“The Blood Covenant” tells the story of three ambitious young men struggling to make it and tired of being looked down upon. In a bid to chase the fast life, they are seduced into blood money rituals and get caught up in a world of money and luxury, oblivious to the damage their choices cause. “The Blood Covenant” is a cautionary tale about how even people with the best of intentions can be seduced by the fast life.
The title will be in cinemas nationwide from April 15, 2022. The top casts include Erica Ngozi Nlewedim, Tobi Bakre, Shawn Faqua, and Uzor Arukwe. Others are Omowunmi Dada, Alex Ekubo, Gregory Ojefua, Ufuoma McDermott, Shalewa Ashafa, and Chimezie Imo.
“Superstar”, Inkblot’s last title released in December 2021, was successful and grossed more than ₦67 million in 8 weeks. We look forward to how movie goers will receive “The Blood Covenant” when it comes out on April 15.
