Ayo Adesanya attended St Anne's School in Ibadan, Oyo State, completing her primary and secondary education, obtaining both the First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate. She later earned a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication from the University of Ibadan.
Starting her career in 1986 after completing the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC), Ayo Adesanya joined Nollywood in 1992. Her debut was in the movie "Living in Bondage". She subsequently entered the Yoruba-language film industry, where she has acted, produced, and directed several films. Ayo Adesanya is versatile, also appearing in English-language films.
