After Africa Magic announced the nominations for the AMVCA 9, we analysed all the nominations data since its inception in 2013. Here are some interesting facts:
- There are 150 first time nominees this year, including Tobi Bakre, Ini Dima-Okojie , Fiyin Gambo, and many more.
- Funke AKindele is the most nominated individual, and she has won the most awards;
- Bovi Ugboma is the only person nominated this year and in 2013 who has not won any award;
- If Bimbo Ademoye fails to win any award this year, she could tie the record for most nominations without any win;
- Kunle Afolayan could break his previous record for the film with the most wins with #Anikulapo;
- Kayode Kasum and Immaculata Oko-Kasum join the privileged list of couples with nominations in the same year.
