Inkblot Productions is gearing up for their 2024 lineup, with acclaimed director Biodun Stephen at the helm of ‘Muri & Ko.’
While the studio remains tight-lipped about plot details and release plans, this marks the second female-directed project in Inkblot’s 2024 slate, following Zulumoke Oyibo’s directorial debut, ‘The Betrayed.’
‘The Betrayed’ recently wrapped production, and Nollywire has learned that pre-production for ‘Muri & Ko’ has concluded, with filming set to commence as early as March 2024.
This announcement solidifies Inkblot’s ongoing collaboration with the director, who directed two of their 2023 releases. The partnership began with the romantic film ‘Big Love,’ introduced to audiences in a January 2023 press release.
Audiences flocked to theatres to witness Bimbo Ademoye and Timini Egbuson’s enchanting love story in ‘Big Love,’ raking in ₦19.7 million and a box office gross exceeding ₦48 million. The successful collaboration continued with the release of the Debo Adedayo-led comedy-thriller ‘Small Talk’ in October 2023. Both titles are now available for streaming on Prime Video, aligning with the studio’s multi-year licencing deal with the platform established in 2021.
In ‘Muri & Ko,’ Stephen reunites with Bisola Aiyeola, their creative synergy evident in their previous collaborations. Their director-actor journey began with Iroko TV’s ‘Glimpse,’ a romance drama portraying a devout Christian couple navigating a severe financial crisis. They followed up with the poignant drama ‘Let Karma’ in 2017, distributed and released in cinemas by FilmOne Entertainment. In 2023, the dynamic duo graced cinemas again with ‘The Kujus Again,’ a compelling actor-director collaboration under TMPL Motion Pictures.

As part of their customary approach, Inkblot has enlisted the executive producing talents of Chinaza Onuzo, Zulumoke Oyibo, and Damola Ademola for ‘Muri & Ko.’ The star-studded cast includes Kunle Remi, Bisola Aiyeola, Bucci Franklin, KieKie, Charles Okocha, Fiyinfoluwa Asenuga, Femi Jacobs, and Gloria Anozie.
