Accelerate Studios Presents “All’s Fair in Love” for a Valentine’s Day Spectacle

In anticipation of its release, “All’s Fair in Love,” a collaboration from Accelerate Studios, FilmOne Studios, and Covenant Entertainment, owned by Deyemi Okanlawon, recently had an exclusive screening. The romantic comedy stars Deyemi Okanlawon, Timini Egbuson, Buhle Samuels, Ireti Doyle, Juliet Ibrahim, Adedimeji Lateef, Beauty Tukura, Venita Akpofure, Kunle Bamtefa, and Gbubemi Ejeye and promises to captivate audiences with its seamless blend of friendship, rivalry, and romance.

In an intimate chat, Deyemi Okanlawon described his move from actor-for-hire to producer as a challenging learning curve. Regarding his dual roles, he stated, “Making films has been both the best and worst experience of my life. Professionally, I’ve been in the movie industry for over a decade, and being behind the camera is an entirely different ballgame.”

The actor-producer emphasised the importance of a compelling story and the right team, which included FilmOne and Accelerate Studios. Okanlawon explained the film’s strategic release during the romantic month of February, saying, “We did not just make it a love story; it is a love triangle with little action sequences, positioned to capture the essence of the season.”

Gbubemi Ejeye, who plays Dupe, discussed her role and the film’s theme. She described Dupe as intelligent, young, and vibrant, and he served as a constant reminder that family comes first. Gbubemi explained, “The movie is about love and how friendship is tested. Dupe is frequently the one who reminds her brothers about love and family.”

“All’s Fair in Love,” produced by Esse Akwawa, Gloria Obichukwu, and Deyemi Okanlawon, is Accelerate Studios’ first theatrical release in Nigeria. Akwawa, the studio’s Head of Production, revealed the company’s ambitious plans for cinema and YouTube films. “We are here to make a statement that Nollywood is here to stay. We are well-known for producing series, and we are now expanding our offerings with Accelerate Movies on YouTube. We want to make films for the YouTube audience while also making an impact in the cinema.”

Colette Otusheso, CEO of Accelerate Studios, previously spoke in a statement to Nollywire about the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in Nigeria’s film industry through collaborations. Otusheso emphasised the importance of collaboration in pooling diverse talent and resources, which leads to better storytelling and production quality.

“All’s Fair in Love,” distributed by FilmOne Entertainment and set to be released in theatres nationwide on Valentine’s Day, looks to be a worthwhile watch. Okanlawon encourages multiple viewings, saying, “We made a beautiful film; a beautiful love story that anyone in love or in a relationship will enjoy watching.” Anyone who decides to choose to watch the film on Valentine’s Day is going to have a good time.”
