After finishing elementary school in 1974, Mr. Ibu relocated to Sapele to live with his brother following his father's passing. In Sapele, he took on various odd jobs to fund his education and support his family. His work ranged from hairstyling to photography and even employment at a crate production company. Despite facing financial challenges, he secured admission to the College of Education, Yola, but had to withdraw due to financial constraints. Eventually, he managed to enroll at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu once he could afford it.
In his career, Mr. Ibu appeared in over 200 Nollywood movies, prominently featuring in the film "Mr. Ibu." Additionally, he briefly explored the music industry, releasing tracks such as "This Girl" and "Do You Know" on October 15, 2020.
