Alex Usifo, a legend, distinguished and seasoned figure in the Nigerian Film Industry, boasts a career that predates the emergence of Nollywood. Prior to his involvement in Nollywood, he graced the theater stage with remarkable performances, such as his role in Larry Williams' "Awero," a production he not only acted in but also wrote, produced, and directed. This noteworthy portrayal unfolded at the esteemed National Theatre in Iganmu. Furthermore, he made appearances in Ola Rotimi's "Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again!" which captivated audiences at the same venue. His artistic talents extended beyond the stage to encompass radio plays and photoplays. The extent of his contributions to the world of film remains a mystery even to him. Despite his involvement in various occult-themed roles, Alex Usifo remains a devout gospel believer and minister.
During the late 1980s and early 1990s, a collaborative effort between Andy Amenechi [DGN] and Alex Usifo led to the establishment of a modeling agency. Subsequently, Alex Usifo embarked on an independent venture, giving rise to Silver and Gold Productions. This enterprise swiftly gained prominence for nurturing exceptional talents, including renowned beauty queens Sandra Petgrave and Toyin Raji, who initially kickstarted their careers as models under the banner of "SilverModels."
