Biodun Stephen, Laide Daramola Reunite For ‘Aso Ebi Diaries,’ Co-produced by Taiwo Adebayo

Lagos, Nigeria. Lady Laide Films is delighted to announce the kickoff of filming for its latest endeavour, ‘Aso Ebi Diaries,’ in the vibrant city of Lagos, Nigeria. Under the adept leadership of renowned director Biodun Stephen, celebrated for her global creative prowess, the film pledges to enchant audiences with its compelling narrative and an ensemble cast of exceptional talent.

Leading the production are Laide Daramola and Taiwo ‘Bossteewo’ Adebayo. Laide Daramola is riding high on the success of her debut feature film ‘Hotel Labamba,’ which soared to the #1 spot on Prime Video in Nigeria for eight consecutive days and currently holds a top 10 position in nine other countries. Meanwhile, Taiwo Adebayo, a stalwart in film and television production, boasts a film slate with a gross budget of ₦26.8 billion, solidifying her position as one of the highest indigenous-grossing producers in history. These accomplishments set the stage for ‘Aso Ebi Diaries’ to make an exceptional mark on Nigeria’s thriving film industry.

Renowned cinematographer Barnabas Emordi is entrusted with ensuring a visually stunning experience for the audience. Adding a significant touch to costume design are Yolanda Okereke and Janet Aiyegbusi, whose expertise will elevate the onscreen portrayal of the Aso Ebi culture, enhancing its quality, colour, and vibrancy.

Featuring a stellar cast including Shaffy Bello, Kunle Remi, Nancy Isime, Bukunmi ‘Kie Kie’ Adeaga-Ilori, Daniel Etim Effiong, Chizzy Alichi, Daniel Lloyd, and Elvina Esewvre Ibru, the film promises to resonate with global audiences.

Set against the dynamic backdrop of Nigeria’s lively party scene, ‘Aso Ebi Diaries’ delves into the intricacies of the Aso Ebi culture, examining its rise to social significance and questioning whether its purpose and traditions have been misconstrued. Through its compelling storytelling and intricate character development, the film ensures audiences a thought-provoking and entertaining experience.
